During a Playdate system update, your Playdate may display an
Error e2 and instruct you to press 🅐 to enter recovery mode, or press 🅑 to attempt the update again.
This issue could be due to a problem connecting to the Playdate update server, in which case retrying might be all that’s needed to fix it.
In some situations, the update could be interrupted in a way that makes it difficult to continue it successfully; it would then be best to start over from recovery mode.
