Before you purchase a pre-owned Playdate…

NOTE: This post pertains to Playdates for sale from a seller other than Panic: say, a friend, or an eBay seller. This post does not apply to refurbished Playdates sold by Panic.

‼️ THIS IS CRITICAL: make sure the Playdate is no longer registered to the seller. If it is still registered to them, you will not be able to register it to your account.

If you can inspect the Playdate, check out the image that is on the screen. (If you cannot inspect it, ask the seller to send you a photo of their Playdate in its current state.) Its screen should look like one of these two images:

If you do not have a photo verifying the Playdate’s unregistered state, we recommend not purchasing the Playdate.
