All about Playdate Catalog

Catalog is Panic’s curated game store that features some of the very best games for Playdate.

Catalog is accessible via the Catalog app on your Playdate, or via the web at play.date/catalog.

Games bought through either the app or the web will automatically install onto your Playdate. (They should auto-install in 12 hours or less, but if you want them to install immediately, follow these instructions below.)

Adding a payment card to your account

Before buying games in Catalog, you’ll need to add a payment card to your account.

Launching Catalog on your Playdate

From the top-level folder view:

1. Select System then press A.
2. Click Up and Down on the d-pad until you find Catalog. Press A.

To force your Catalog games to install right now

From the top-level folder view:

1. Select System then press A.
2. Select Game Library then press A.
3. Go to the Downloads Tab (third icon on the left edge of the screen).
4. Click over to the Download All button in the upper right. Press A.

All your purchased (but not yet installed) games should start downloading and installing. NOTE: you need to stay on this screen to keep the download active. Do not exit the Game Library app. (You can lock your Playdate. The download will go a little slower than if you keep it alive and unlocked, but it will proceed.)
