Playdate OS 3.0

Panic is proud to announce Playdate OS 3.0, with new features that make organizing your dozens — even hundreds — of amazing Playdate games easier than ever.

Playdate OS 3.0 has three big new features:

1. Folders

After updating to Playdate OS 3.0, the first thing you’ll see is the new Folders View.

You can now sort and organize your games into logical, easy-to-manage groups.

Of course, Playdate OS 3.0 will do a lot of the work for you. Games will automatically get sorted into Folders with titles like:

⁃	Season 1 / Season 2
⁃	New, Still Wrapped
⁃	From Catalog
⁃	Recently Played
⁃	Sideloaded
⁃	System

Of course, you can create your own custom folders, too. Name them however you want; even choose an icon.

2. New Game Library app

Game Library is your one-stop-shop for downloading, organizing, and managing your games.

Create new folders, and choose the games that belong in them. Manage your Playdate’s storage space. Download your latest Catalog purchases or sideloaded games. Even launch games right from inside the Game Library app.

3. Support for storing hundreds of games on your Playdate

We never dreamt developers would create so many great Playdate games: over 1,400 at last count. And we never thought anyone would have more than a few dozen games on their Playdates.

But as it turns out, a lot of Playdate owners have 50, 100, or more games. So we started from scratch, re-architecting Playdate OS 3.0 to handle even the largest game libraries without difficulty.

Feel free to collect as many games as you want—with Folders, the Game Library app, and its improved architecture, Playdate OS 3.0 has you covered.
