Managing Your Game After Release

Uploading new build after launching on Catalog

If you have an update that you’d like to push out to owners of your game, you can upload the zipped copy of the updated build in this Dropbox folder and email us to let us know you’ve uploaded a new build and list the changes.

When uploading the build to Dropbox, make sure to:

  • Update the buildNumber in the pdxinfo file as that’s how our backend knows there’s a new build.
  • Update the version in the pdxinfo file if you’d like to show a new version to players that are downloading the new build.
  • Upload a zipped file to this Dropbox Folder.
  • Email us at catalog-dev@play.date to let us know you’ve uploaded a new build and what changes you made.

Updating your Catalog page

We lock the ability to edit your page once the game is live to keep track of the changes. Feel free to email us if you need to make change to your page!

Updating pricing

  • You won’t be able to change the price for your title for 30 days after releasing on Catalog. To update the price of your title, you can email us at catalog-dev@play.date.

Promo codes for your released game

We can create codes in small amounts (generally 10-20) to give for free to your friends/family, press, or people that have worked on the game. Generated codes will appear on the dashboard for your specific game. Head to the developer dashboard to find your game: https://play.date/dev/catalog/.
